Embracing Diversity and Inclusion (D&I)

Respecting and celebrating each other’s differences

To maintain a diverse workforce we need to attract and retain talented individuals from different backgrounds and make sure our culture supports them.

Few other companies are as diverse as ÌÇÐÄ̽»¨and inclusivity is one of our six Values.

We have very diverse customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. We need a diverse workforce to meet their needs.

Across our Group there are 140 different nationalities represented by employees. We value diversity because it encourages innovation, creativity and different ways of thinking. It creates a fascinating place to work, with opportunities to collaborate with people from various countries, cultures and with different perspectives.

We are proud to be a diverse global organisation that encourages our people to value their differences. We think of diversity in its widest sense, as those attributes make each of us unique.

We are committed to increasing the proportion of women in senior leadership teams to 40% and in management roles to 45% by 2025.

In 2024, we achieved some impressive results which reflect the great progress we have made:

  • 43.5% of women in management roles and 36.5% on senior leadership teams;
  • Over 36% of senior leaders are ethnically diverseÌý

Our dedication to D&I continues to receive external recognition from accredited bodies.Ìý

We have been listed among the Financial Times’ Diversity Leaders for two consecutive years in 2024 and 2025. This prestigious annual ranking identifies companies across Europe that excel in promoting D&I, based on surveys conducted with employees. In December 2023, we achieved the Disability Confident Leader (Level 3) status, an important recognition that remains valid until 2026. This accolade – the highest tier in the UK Government-backed initiative – acknowledges our efforts in attracting, developing, and supporting individuals with disabilities and long-term conditions. Additionally, in 2021, we became the first in our industry to achieve accreditation with the Global Equality Standard and UK National Equality Standards.

These recognitions are a tribute and celebration of the innovations we’re making to our working environment and the ways we continue to build an engaging, diverse, and inclusive culture.

We believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace can inspire greater productivity, foster innovation, and improve decision-making, ultimately enhancing employee well-being and job satisfaction. By focusing on inclusion, we not only create a supportive workplace but also drive business success through collaboration and the strength of diverse ideas.

We are continuing our pay equity journey and maintain a global scope for gender pay equity reporting. Our scope for gender pay equity reporting is global and we expanded the scope for ethnicity pay equity analysis to include eight markets in 2024 (40% of our direct employees‡).Ìý

Our employees come from many cultures and backgrounds, and our business benefits from the breadth of ideas and experiences they bring. You can read about our ambitions, progress and opportunities for growth in our Diversity and Inclusion Report 2024.

‡ For the purposes of our Unadjusted Global Gender Pay Gap and Pay Equity analyses, 'Direct Employees' are permanent employees employed directly by ÌÇÐÄ̽»¨Group companies. It does not include employees on aÌýleave of absence, employees on unpaid sick leave, interns, students, apprentices, or fixed-term contractors employed by third-party service providers. iNovine (ourÌýRetail businesses in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina) are not in the scope of theÌýanalysis.
