����̽��scored 81 (out of 100) in the 2023 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (19 December 2023). Based on the S&P Global ESG Scores, ����̽��was selected for inclusion in the DJSI European Index. We have been included in the DJSI indices for 22 consecutive years.

Workforce Disclosure Initiative

Our 2023 WDI submission received a score which placed us in the top 20% of participating companies. ����̽��received special mentions in the ‘Workforce Action’ and ‘Value Chain Data’ categories.

Bloomberg Gender Equality Index

BAT’s ongoing drive to sustain a diverse, inclusive culture was recognised with inclusion in the 2023 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) at the first time of participating. The GEI measures gender equality performance globally across: leadership & talent pipeline, equal pay & gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and external brand.

����̽��received an ESG Risk Rating of 31.1 from Sustainalytics and was assessed to be at high risk of experiencing material financial impacts from ESG factors.

FT Europe's Climate Leaders

����̽��was named in April 2024 as a Climate Leader for the fourth successive year by the Financial Times in its annual European listing. BAT's reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions intensity and our CDP score of A-, placed us in the top 3% of companies evaluated.

Sustainability gold at Transform Awards

Our world number one¹��global vapour brand Vuse won the gold award at the prestigious Transform Awards Europe 2022 for ‘Best Use of Sustainable Packaging’ in recognition of the work done on Vuse pack design with our WPP agency Landor & Fitch.

Sustainable Product Award for Vuse

In December 2021, Vuse, our global No. 1 vaping brand, won the Sustainable Product Award in the prestigious 2021 SEAL Business Sustainability Awards. SEAL recognises innovative and impactful products that are ‘purpose-built for a sustainable future’.

Best-in-class ISS Score - ����̽��received an ISS Environment and Social Quality Score of 1. Scores are ranked on a scale of 1 to 10. An environment quality score of 1 indicates better environmental disclosure.

����̽��was awarded a Prime Status in June 2024. Companies are awarded Prime Status if the overall ESG Corporate Rating letter grade ​meets or exceeds the industry-specific Prime threshold defined by ISS ESG’s Industry Classification Matrix.

Double UK Product of the Year

����̽��won twice at the annual Product of the Year Awards – the largest survey of product innovation in the UK. The Vuse ePod2 won in the ‘Vape & Heated Tobacco Products’ category while our modern oral brand Velo landed top prize in the ‘Nicotine Pouches’ section.

National and Global Equality Standard

In 2021, we were the first in our industry to achieve UK National Equality Standard and Global Equality Standard accreditation. Both are rigorous benchmarks for diversity and inclusion.
